Lakewood United Methodist Church
Wong Strauch Architects worked closely with the Pastor and Building committee at the Lakewood United Methodist Church to develop a Master Plan and Phase 1 renovation project for the facility. The current facility, built in 1950 and expanded in 1954 and 1962, had severe the congregation well, but required significant upgrading to help in conservation, accessibility but also to open the church visibly to a new generation. Upgrades to restrooms and ADA accessibility were completed in Phase 1, as well as major improvements to the Sanctuary.
Completed in 2012, the improvements included new lighting, insulated white ceiling system, exterior insulated window systems, interior finishes and a new theatrical lighting control system. The result modernized the 1960’s facility into a fresh worship environment for the parishioners for years to come.
