CDOT 11th Ave

Wong Strauch Architects provided the design services for new VSF, Motorpool and Sand Shed facilities to meet CDOT Region’s needs for serving the Denver metro area and surrounding counties.

The project redeveloped an existing site & demolished two outdated facilities to create a new 10 bay VSF with 8 bays for CDOT vehicle maintenance storage and 2 wash bays. This also included an administrative bay with a mezzanine. There is also a separate 5 bay Motor Pool plus wash bay along with two bays for office / storage functions. The site also has a new Sand Shed structure.

The VSF and Motor Pool are constructed entirely of masonry block with standing seam metal roofs to provide quality buildings for both durability and aesthetic considerations with the location and surrounding neighborhood. Interior finishes are also applicable to the functions of both the VSF and Motor Pool with low maintenance and painted surfaces.

The Sand Shed is constructed of a pre-engineered metal building with the same standing seam roof as the other facilities on the site.
