Cowell Elementary School

Completed Fall of 2000, the addition and renovation to Cowell Elementary School comprised approximately 5,500 square feet. Difficult existing site conditions required creative problem-solving for limited play space, hot classrooms, lack of green areas, and deficient parking. 5 new classrooms were added plus the restrooms were renovated to meet current ADA standards. In the center of the school campus a play area was created adding basketball, tetherball, hopscotch, and other activities. Space was captured to create a green area where classrooms open onto bermed grass. Construction cost for this project was approximately $1.5 M.
