DBG Welcome Center

Located within the property of Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms, the design is for a new 3,900 SF Welcome Center. This creates a unique entry focal point for all visitors to the gardens and provides ticketing, gift shop, customer service counters along with Offices, Conference Room and Restrooms that accommodate the operation of the facility. The building takes on a modern low profile with a dramatic sloped roof and shade canopy with a large expanse of windows with views out to the surrounding gardens and plaza. The interior takes on a large open volume with high slope ceilings finished with rich wood and exposed steel structure, suspended lighting and a variety of materials surrounding the reception counter areas to highlight key customer service points. The mixture of materials blending the interior and exterior are utilized throughout with stone, bright colors and exposed concrete flooring, that creates as continuity to the outdoor design and gathering areas and integrate into the landscape.
