DIA Concourse A West Expansion

WSA served as the Associate Architect on the HNTB team for the west expansion of Concourse A at Denver International Airport. The project is a 600,000 SF five level addition to the existing concourse, providing 12 new gates to one of the largest airports in the country. WSA aided HNTB on all architectural services, including programming, design, construction documents and construction administration. The new gates on the north side of the project include 5 international ‘swing’ gates, with the ability to handle a wide body aircraft or two narrow body aircraft at the same gate. The gates have a secure upper-level corridor connecting inbound travelers directly to the Customs and FIS facility. The expansion creates 12 new gates and 16 new holdrooms and includes a large outdoor deck space facing the mountains, new restrooms, concessions spaces, areas for clubs, basement level for baggage handling and a new concept for passenger seating. The project was completed in November 2022.
