Quigg Newton Family

The Learning Center is located in the heart of one of the city’s largest public housing developments. It stands as an icon to a segment of the community in need of many services. The two-story clerestory entrance was designed to provide indirect lighting and a contemporary ambiance. Various groups occupy this space including Head Start and Community Services. The interior utilizes a playful mix of materials in the daycare facility, blending into more professional finishes in the community portions of the building.

This project was honored with the Agency Award of Excellence in Project Design – New Design from The National Association of Housing and Redevelopments Officials (NAHRO).
